Software Development Manager *

At Siemens EDA, we develop custom software (https://eda.sw.siemens.com/en-US/ic/solido/) to solve problems in circuit verification, design automation, and other specialized fields within the semiconductor industry. Solutions are found through approaches such as machine learning, statistical analysis, and advanced (and patented!) techniques. You will be working at the cutting-edge of software development with industry-leading customers at one of the largest companies in the world. This position is located in brand-new and state-of-the-art offices at Innovation Place in Saskatoon, SK, Canada.

We are looking for a talented Software Development Manager to join the Solido Characterization Suite technical team at the Saskatoon research & development site of Siemens EDA. We develop leading-edge chip design software that is used by some of the world's largest technology companies, recently highlighted here: https://aws.amazon.com/partners/success/arm-siemens-eda/.

Job Duties:

1. Manage between 4-6 members within the Solido Characterization Suite software development team.
2. Lead technical projects to design, develop and implement new technology to solve some of the world’s most challenging problems.
3. Use Python and/or C++ to prototype ideas and design new solutions.
4. Work with a top-notch technical team, here in Saskatoon and around the world, to ensure our leading electronic design automation products evolve to meet the changing expectations of our customers.
5. Collaborate directly with technology experts at major semiconductor companies to define, develop, and deliver new products and product features.

Job Qualifications:

1. B.Sc. degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent area.
2. 3+ years of management or leadership experience.
3. Demonstrated leadership skills and personnel management skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage projects that require challenging technical solutions in a collaborative environment.
5. Demonstrated expertise in some or all of the following: object-oriented programming (Python and/or C++), Linux, testing, source control (Git), algorithms, debugging, profiling, GUI design (Qt).
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated through presentations, emails, software documentation, collecting customer requirements, and communicating with team members.
7. A team player; an ability to provide and be receptive of constructive feedback; mentor and teach others on the team.
8. Customer-focused; have the ability to prioritize tasks based on customer experience and ROI.
9. Willingness to learn and interested in new challenges.
10. Nice-to-have expertise: Statistics (Monte Carlo analysis), test automation, transistor-level circuit design, EDA CAD tools, SQL, and release management.
11. Must be available to work from our Saskatoon facility.
