Position: Software Analyst
Job Description:As a
Software Analyst, you will perform design, analysis, programming, and integration activities in the development of software for train control systems of Rail Signaling Solutions, achieving Customer Satisfaction of the delivered solution/product.
Key Responsibilities:- Understand the customer's needs and through life cycle concerns whatever the used means (e.g., advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, etc.).
- Contribute to the formalization of mission/function description, architectural & algorithms design, and the refinement of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design, code, debug, write test procedures, and test software code; chair design reviews.
- Review code, test procedures, and test results.
- Analyze and implement corrections for defect reports.
- Perform engineering testing in the field and investigate problems in the field.
- Contribute in co-engineering activities with the Systems Engineering team to ensure system-software consistency and compliance with the software architecture.
- Solve tasks in the best technical and timely manner; look for opportunities and make suggestions for improvements.
Required Skills and Experience:- Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience; Relevant Academic Projects will be considered.
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Entry-level analysis skills, able to diagnose issues based on field logs and correlate events to failures.
- Able to handle assignments within a small to medium scale software application.
- Knowledgeable of the software development processes.
- Able to quickly integrate with the team and work independently.
- Knowledge of software development environments (Microsoft Visual Studio, desktop simulator, target simulator, etc.).
- Entry-level knowledge of railway signaling techniques including SelTrac CBTC.
- Experience working within a team using Agile Methodologies.
- Practical experience with typical programs which are part of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Practical experience with source control, IDE, and requirements management tools (e.g., Eclipse, Jira, Git, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Doors, etc.).
- Entry-level experience in development of software in C++ including templates, STL, Boost, MFC usage.
- Entry-level knowledge of C#, WPF.
- Entry-level experience in using scripting languages such as Perl and Ruby.
- Knowledgeable of object-oriented techniques, multithreading, socket programming, and General Windows Programming.
- Able to program on various operating platforms (i.e., Windows, Linux, etc.).
- Entry-level experience in development of software for embedded systems using programming languages such as C and C++.
- Entry-level experience in Modelling and Simulation.
- Basic understanding of Graph theory.
Preferred Skills and Experience:- Professional Engineer (PENG).
- Entry-level experience in development of software in C# is an asset.
- Entry-level experience in using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby is an asset.
- Entry-level experience in development of software in Java, C#, Assembly, and Python programming languages will be considered an asset.
