Salary Range: Hourly: $52.41-$114.65/hour; Per Three Credit Course: $7,947; Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.

Work Arrangements

The Social Work Department is seeking a contract faculty instructor to teach the following classroom-based course:

WINTER 2025: SOWK 3233 – Child Welfare Social Work
Scheduled Times:
Monday 2:30-4:20pm
Wednesday 10:30-12:20pm

The successful applicant will also be included on our list of faculty who are qualified to teach other specific courses and may be offered teaching contracts in the future as the need arises.

Responsibilities

  • As a faculty member, you will be required to attend campus to instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in the Social Work course.
  • You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, and maintain high quality learner-centred instruction.
  • A faculty member is also required to work collaboratively with all SW Department members.
  • Involvement in Department and Faculty initiatives is encouraged.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • Masters degree in Social Work (doctoral degree is preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Child and Family Services Agency.
  • Thorough knowledge of social work specifically in Child Welfare, and knowledge of legislation, regulations and practice standards pertaining to Child & Family Services.
  • Experience teaching in educational settings (preferably post-secondary) or community settings (e.g. training, facilitating educational groups, etc.) an asset.
