Job Title : Social Services and Volunteer Coordinator

Location : North York (in-person, daily)

Job Type : Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Working Days / Hours : Monday to Thursday, 9 am - 6 pm, Friday : 9 am - 1 pm

Reports To : Office Manager

Salary Range : 45-55k CAD

Our employer is seeking an empathetic, detail-oriented, and motivated Social Services and Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. This role involves supporting clients in accessing social services, coordinating and overseeing programs, and engaging volunteers to enhance community impact. The ideal candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to improve the delivery of services and ensure a positive volunteer experience.

Responsibilities : Social Services

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, offering support and guidance to help them access necessary social services.
  • Coordinate and oversee social service programs, ensuring they meet client needs and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improving social services and implement changes to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external organizations and community partners to further the reach and impact of services
  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and foster effective communication with clients to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers, ensuring they are effectively engaged in organizational initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to volunteers to ensure they have a positive and fulfilling experience.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, volunteer activities, and program outcomes using internal databases, spreadsheets and other software tools.
  • Develop and update schedules, reports, and program materials as needed.

Requirements :

  • Proven work experience in social services or community-based coordination
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other related software tools
  • Self-starter, well-organized, and detail-oriented
  • Language Requirements : Russian speaking – a must; Hebrew is a strong asset.
  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Services, Social work, or a similar field
