About the Role:

Are you social media savvy with an interest in retail, student life, and events? Responsible for the creation of social media content and execution, the Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator supports the sales, engagement, and growth of the Campus Store, Housing (Residences), and Conference Services social media platforms. Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing & Business Development, this enthusiastic team member is an integral part of the marketing team, engaging with student life on campus to create branded campaigns that connect with customers, encourage engagement, and drive sales.

The Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator will:

  • Contribute to content meetings, generating creative ideas and innovations relevant to operational goals and growth targets to increase target demographic engagement;
  • Copyedit and review digital assets to ensure compliance with brand standards;
  • Create and implement innovative social media marketing initiatives;
  • Write compelling copy for a variety of digital channels, including social posts, emails, and websites;
  • Lead the coordination and maintenance of the Ancillary Services social media sites and channels;
  • Develop and implement a content schedule to manage content and plan marketing campaigns;
  • Research and advise on social media trends to optimize sales and growth within the social media landscape;
  • Create and implement direct email marketing campaigns that drive sales for Ancillary Services;
  • Maintain and grow customer email subscription databases;
  • Execute social media initiatives such as contests and content promotion campaigns;
  • Create engaging video and image-based assets such as online advertisements, videos, animations, illustrations, images, infographics, etc.;
  • Develop and maintain photographic and video assets that can be used on digital platforms to support the operational and sales targets of Ancillary Services;
  • Attend events to create, capture, and broadcast live content.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field (Digital Communications, Marketing Degree) or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Relevant experience in digital content development;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, and social media sites;
  • Creative design skills with the ability to develop or adapt photography, video, and marketing communications materials for a digital sales environment;
  • Advanced knowledge of web, media, and content management applications;
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to ensure accurate and professional public-facing digital content;
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service;
  • Strong direction, persuasion, motivation, and sales skills;
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
  • Flexible and responsive to changing needs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and propose approaches to improve outcomes;
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the proven ability to independently design, implement, manage, lead, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Photography;
  • Videography/video editing;
  • Graphic design.

Salary and Total Rewards:

  • Job Grade J, Salary Scale ($52,920-90,720)*;
  • Target Hiring Range: $52,920-$54,500
  • This position includes full comprehensive benefits including tuition waiver.
