Details: The South Asian Legal Clinic of British Columbia (“SALCBC”) is a non-profit seeking a Social Media Coordinator to assist in its efforts to create a sustainable and flourishing clinic and community hub focused on the legal issues and needs of low-income, South Asian identifying community members.
The Social Media Coordinator’s primary duties include:
- Overseeing optimization and development of channels (including but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter) with high-impact, well positioned social content;
- Reporting to the Executive Director and the Managing Lawyer;
- 4 posts per week + engagement + graphics;
- Management of 6 social media platforms (i.e., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Twitter, & Facebook);
- Designing thumbnails/cover images for all video content;
- Collaboratively drafting bi-monthly newsletters (6 newsletters);
- 5 hours for website maintenance per month;
- Monthly analytics report for staff and board;
- Attending staff, board, AGM, socials, volunteer team, or other meetings as required;
- Ongoing communication for content and strategy planning;
- Annual updates and maintenance for acknowledgement dates;
- All other deliverables outside of this scope will be confirmed on a case-by-case basis;
- Creating, editing, and writing video and photo content;
- Maintaining a unified brand voice across all platforms in accordance with current brand guidelines;
- Responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments;
- Reviewing analytics and creating reports on key metrics;
- Ensuring all content embraces diversity and inclusion.
Education & Experience
- Two years' recent digital marketing and/or online promotion strategy related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
- Strong content writing, copywriting, and editing skills;
- Proficient with video and photo editing tools;
- Experience managing social media channels and/or campaigns on social media networks is an asset;
- Proficiency with software including Adobe Creative Suite, relevant apps and platforms, and other media editing software is an asset;
- Website maintenance as needed via Squarespace.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Familiarity with MailChimp, Squarespace, Eventbrite, and content management systems;
- Excellent analytical and project management skills and an ability to multitask;
- Sound decision-making skills, good listener, team player, and flexibility;
- Ability to supervise others virtually and in different physical spaces;
- Ability to be a self-starter and organize work.
