Social Content Specialist & Creator – Full Time

Location: Head Office, Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional evenings/weekends for events)

We’re looking for someone who’s bursting with creativity, energy, and ideas to become our next Social Content Specialist & Creator. If you’re a content-obsessed, social media-savvy storyteller who lives and breathes TikTok trends and Reels—and you're excited to launch your career in digital marketing while creating fresh, fun, and engaging content that brings our brand to life—this is your chance!

You’ll be working closely with our Marketing team to concept, shoot, and edit short-form videos that show off our cozy bedding, stylish home vibes, and fun team culture. You’ll also be hands-on in our stores and events to capture content that feels authentic, energetic, and totally on-brand.

Requirements & Responsibilities

  1. Create scroll-stopping content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Content should reflect QE Home as a leading authority in Canada’s bedding and home textiles industry.
  2. Brainstorm, plan, film, and edit short-form video content that feels current and on-trend each week.
  3. Create visually captivating videos that resonate with QE Home’s target audience.
  4. Work with our team and internal stakeholders to feature product launches, retail moments, behind-the-scenes action, and more.
  5. Jump into photoshoots and events to capture content on the fly.
  6. Identify and seize opportunities to capture relevant and engaging content, including but not limited to attending and covering company events, activations, and other occasions.
  7. Have a strong understanding of social media metrics and the ability to leverage them for improving content performance.
  8. Proactively engage with our online community through comments, DMs, and stories to enhance brand presence.
  9. Help manage social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement of users.

Technical Skills

  1. A passion for content creation and a great eye for visuals.
  2. 1+ year experience (can include school projects, freelance work, or internships!).
  3. Comfortable filming yourself or others—and being on camera is a bonus.
  4. Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and current social trends, plus a solid grasp of social media marketing principles.
  5. Ability to identify emerging trends and create engaging content that aligns with QE Home’s brand and resonates within online communities.
  6. Proficiency with video editing tools (CapCut, Canva, Final Cut, etc.).
  7. Self-motivated, organized, and full of creative ideas.
  8. Based in the Greater Vancouver Area with the ability to commute to Burnaby and stores when needed.
  9. Willing to flex your schedule for occasional events or activations.

  1. Strong communicator with solid project and time management skills—you know how to stay organized and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  2. You “get” our brand—its voice, style, and audience—and know how to create content that aligns.
  3. Proactive and self-driven, you’re comfortable working independently and bringing structure to creative chaos.
  4. You’ve got a fun, vibrant personality and a great eye for design, style, and storytelling.
  5. Whether you're behind the camera or in front of it, you're confident and comfortable (voiceovers too!).
  6. Bonus points if you’ve got a great sense of humour—we love a good laugh around here!

Bonus Skills – Nice to Have, But Not Necessary

  1. Knowledge of Later or other social media scheduling tools
  2. Skills in graphic design, photography, or writing

Education

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field.
