Social and Digital Media Coordinator

What Can I Expect to Do in This Role?
You will:
- Develop social media and digital content in various channels aligned with the brand and marketing strategy for SLPC’s social media channels, websites and digital platforms, in support of the marketing & communications plan and SLPC’s business goals;
- Lead the development of the social media, content marketing, and other digital marketing efforts;
- Provide recommendations on social and digital media approaches to achieve objectives;
- Create, maintain, update, and implement social media content calendar, as appropriate for SLPC brands, audience, and platform;
- Create and maintain a content plan and schedule for each channel;
- Post appropriate content for various social and digital media sites and respond to inquiries;
- Work collaboratively to ensure that all forms of visual communications and messages are carefully linked together to communicate a clear, consistent, and compelling brand message;
- Liaise with Business Units to define content messaging and campaign timing;
- Liaise with external vendors/advertising agencies as required to ensure alignment of strategy and content;
- Troubleshoot content effectiveness and alignment with approved strategic direction;
- Participate in discussions regarding content and brand and providing responses to consumer content;
- Create and/or curate content in the manner of taking photos, writing copy, designing, or modifying graphics, editing videos, finding user generated content, and contributing to editorial content;
- Perform other duties to support the writing, publishing and creative services functions of the department including researching, reporting, and making recommendations to support the use of digital and social media channels;
- Monitor social and digital communities for relevance to SLPC Business Units;
- Actively monitor and conduct routine audits of SLPC websites to make sure that production standards and content guidelines are met, as well as for issues, compliance to AODA standards, or errors and assist with the development and maintenance of SLPC business unit reservations systems;
- Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.

HOW DO I QUALIFY?
Knowledge and Experience:
Position requires knowledge of:
- the evolving digital media and marketing landscapes and staying up to date with relevant and new platforms;
- content management, development for blogs, social media and web publishing;
- search engine optimization to develop content for best results;
- web and/or social media metrics to analyze results of social and digital media initiatives;
- Principles, techniques and emerging trends of social and digital media, marketing, communications, media relations, issues management, writing, and editing to develop and lead effective content strategies, plans and initiatives.
Communication Skills:
You have:
- oral communication skills to provide advice and recommendations on social/digital media approaches to achieve objectives, liaise with external vendors/advertising agencies;
- written and editing skills to write accurate specific content aligned with SLPC’s brands and marketing strategy.
Judgment, Organizational and Analytical Skills:
You have:
- organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment;
- problem-solving skills to resolve quality and delivery issues;
- analytical skills to identify sources of data, collect and compile information and assess/determine the most effective content to meet the social community needs; to analyze performance metrics for social media campaigns and benchmark to industry trends.
Leadership, Project Management and Research Skills:
You have:
- research techniques to develop content for web and social media;
- interpersonal skills to collaborate with industry and regional travel partners, participate in meetings to discuss objectives, messages and audiences;
- planning, project management and coordination skills to manage concurrent projects, schedules and timelines;
- creativity and demonstrated successful immersion in social and digital media forums to provide appropriate content and management of initiatives.
