Join Our Team as a Smetco Operator! Are you experienced in a fast-paced warehouse environment and looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to join our team. If you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to meet productivity targets, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain the Smetco Pallet Sortation machine.
2. Inspect and sort pallets into grades for forklift pick-up.
3. Direct pallets to proper destination stackers from automated indexers.
4. Operate control stations with numerous buttons and switches.
5. Follow safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
6. Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality targets.
7. Maintain a clean and organized sorting area.
8. Accurately record pallet sorting, including counts and grades.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadership team.

Qualifications:

1. Experience with operating machinery and/or Smetco Machine preferred.
2. Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of PPE in an industrial setting.
3. Basic math skills.
4. Ability to comprehend pallet quality criteria to ensure quality targets are consistently achieved.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

1. Work environment susceptible to seasonal changes in temperature.
2. Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection provided).
3. Exposure to heavy equipment, moving conveyors, and heavy forklift traffic.
4. Ability to lift, carry, and move pallets and materials weighing up to 85 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
5. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on hard surfaces.
6. Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling required.
7. Strong visual acuity to inspect pallets for defects and perform detailed repair work.
8. Occasionally required to maneuver on uneven surfaces or platforms.
