As a Smart Energy Engineer, you’ll be working at customers’ homes delivering a service we can be proud of and helping us achieve our mission of driving progress towards net zero carbon living. You will play a key role in supporting our customers and OVO onto the path of Zero Carbon by visiting our customers, offering amazing Customer Service, carrying out Smart installs, and promoting energy efficiency.

Your key outcomes will be:

1. Deliver the highest possible level of customer satisfaction as a brand ambassador for OVO’s Plan Zero and energy efficiency.
2. Engage with customers on the benefits of smart meters, including how to monitor and reduce their energy consumption.
3. Ensure you have the right materials stocked in your van and maintain proactive communication before visits.
4. Utilize strong technical skills to deliver exceptional service, getting it right the first time.
5. Adapt working methods to install Smart metering systems in a variety of customer environments.
6. Identify unsafe situations or conditions and take appropriate actions.
7. Collaborate with peers and colleagues to ensure we meet our customers’ needs.
8. Take ownership of your work by refreshing knowledge and skills regularly.
9. Carry out risk assessments to ensure safety for yourself, the customer, and their property.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Hold a CCN1/CMA1 & MET1 or Level 2 Smart Meter Diploma.
2. Minimum of 6 months experience as a Smart Energy Engineer / Dual Fuel Meter installer.
3. Hold a current full manual driving licence (with up to 6 points) valid in the UK.
4. Demonstrate key behaviours that align with our OVO values, including problem-solving and adaptability.

6. Comfortable talking to and helping customers in their homes.
7. Great at multitasking and managing time effectively.
