List of Requirements

1. Proven experience as a Journeymen Carpenter well-versed in BC building codes.
2. Proficiency in various carpentry skills including foundations, framing, finishing and envelope.
3. Strong understanding of construction estimating processes and techniques.
4. Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively manage a team.
5. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
6. Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
7. Commitment to safety practices on the job site.
8. Valid Driver’s License.

List of Duties

1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers on-site.
2. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes throughout all phases of construction.
3. Oversee the installation of structures and fixtures, including cabinets, siding, tiles, and other carpentry-related tasks.
4. Conduct construction estimating for project planning and budgeting purposes.
5. Provide hands-on support when necessary, including caulking, concrete forming, and construction painting.
6. Train and mentor team members in carpentry techniques and best practices.
7. Manage project timelines to ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining quality standards.
8. Collaborate with other tradespeople to facilitate smooth workflow across different aspects of construction projects.
9. Communicate consistently with Project Manager regarding project, crew & planning.
10. Work with the Project Manager regarding budget management.
11. Collaborate with OHS Coordinator and train workers on safety regulations.
12. Attend weekly “Leads” meeting with Project Manager, Operations Manager and Owner.
