About the Opportunity

A Superintendent oversees on-site construction processes and is responsible for all construction activities based on contract documents and specifications, within established design, budget and schedule guidelines.

This includes, but is not limited to:

1. Organize, direct and control activities on the job site.
2. Maintain the Bockstael Brand with all clients, employees, trade partners, and supply chain partners.
3. Champion and provide leadership that promotes a safe work culture.
4. Manage schedules and assess workforce requirements.
5. Work closely with the site manager, project manager, owner, consultant, trade contractors, inspectors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective project delivery.
6. Achieve project schedule milestones, taking corrective action where necessary to meet key milestone dates.
7. Manage a project using the Lean Last Planner System. Focus for this role will be the day-to-day execution.
8. Oversee execution of the work, including quality and production, by ensuring that the crews work to job specifications and follow drawings.
9. Ability to work in the city of Winnipeg, with flexibility for travel within Manitoba as required.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

1. Gold Seal (GSC), Journeyperson (GSE), CET certification, or engineering education.
2. Experience working on large, complex projects with a construction value over $15 million.
3. Five or more years of experience in the industry leading construction teams that involve multiple trades and construction disciplines, preferably in the ICI sector, mid/high-rise multifamily projects, and healthcare experience.
4. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
5. Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
