Description

We're seeking someone to join as a Site Reliability Engineering Lead in Enterprise Computing’s team to manage the operations, reliability and services for Morgan Stanley's suite of Software Distribution product ecosystem products.

This squad is responsible for providing lifecycle management and tooling for packaging, curation, and distribution of runtime artifacts across the firm using Jfrog Artifactory solution and building container-based Software Deployment Pipeline to applications running on prem or in cloud.

This is a Lead P4 position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.

What you’ll do in the role:

1. Manage administration and operations for the firm's Artifactory based software distribution platform.
2. Maximize the availability and performance of supported systems through optimized and automated plant management, ongoing problem management, and architecture reviews with engineering-side peers.
3. Reduce the cost of support through the elimination of TOIL, operational issues, optimization and automation of tasks, development of operational tools and driving client self-service to minimize constraints.
4. Identify and prioritize technical debt that is impacting client developer productivity, reliability or the efficiency of the operations team.
5. Complex troubleshooting in a Kubernetes and cloud environment.
6. Partner with clients (the Firm's internal development community, IT service practitioners) to maximize their productivity, including troubleshooting the issues they have in using the Software distribution products.
7. Minimize the escalation rate to the dev-side product delivery team members to ensure the department has the greatest possible flow of feature delivery.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role:

1. At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
2. Strong Linux or Kubernetes experience
3. Jfrog Artifactory experience
4. Task automation experience in any programming language
5. Experience of observability stack such as Prometheus, Grafana
6. Exhibit working knowledge in at least ONE of the following areas:
1. SQL
2. REST services (API)
3. Load balancing and networking.
4. Performance troubleshooting and resolution
7. Experience managing a team.
8. Confident collaboration skills
