Calian is inviting expression of interest from applicants for the role of a SITE MANAGER at various locations, for a future possible project with the government. This project is aimed at providing temporary accommodations for asylum claimants entering Canada.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage resources schedules.
Ensure sufficient resources are present for the operations of the site(s) and by shifts.
Ensure that resources are qualified, trained, and capable of performing their duties.
Oversee the needs of asylum claimant/humanitarian arrivals on-site daily.
Facilitate the movement of asylum claimant/humanitarian arrivals to and from the temporary accommodation sites.
Coordinate and assign the rooms and beds to the asylum claimant/humanitarian arrivals across various sites based on occupancy. The Site manager must manage an electronic registry of room assignments and other pertinent information including, but not limited to unexpected departures, trips to the hospital, etc.
Provide reporting
Monitor and track the number of meals provided to asylum claimant/humanitarian arrivals from the accommodation site or third party.
Liaise with temporary accommodation site kitchen or caterer to ensure that the meals are in appropriate quantity and meet the standards of quality.
Be available to attend meetings in person or by teleconference as required, to discuss operational issues, identify gaps and review processes at the temporary accommodation to ensure proper and consistent contract management as well as to ensure operational effectiveness in the daily site management.
Register asylum claimants/humanitarian arrivals at the temporary accommodation site by:
Verifying Identification/documentation.
Collecting information regarding any special needs, medical requirements, food allergies/preferences, group compositions, accompanying family members, etc.
Maintaining an electronic registry of guests on site.
Coordinating room assignments; and
Providing an orientation session as detailed below prior to accessing the lodging room, by providing the following.
Site location of the closest amenities (e.g. where financial institutions, groceries, local transportation, etc. can be found).
Overview of on-site facilities including, health, rest, prayer, meal distribution areas etc. where available.
Access to city and public services from lodging site.
Rules and responsibilities during stay in lodging site; and
Emergency procedures.
Ensure all additional documentation (as required) is printed and handed out to asylum claimant/humanitarian arrivals as requested within 3 days of request.
Qualifications
Post secondary education
A minimum of one year of work experience in the last 5 years in a staff, operations and facility management, especially with asylum seekers is required
Eligible for Enhanced Reliability security clearance
