Your contribution will be pivotal to Stillwater's success and growth. This role, reporting to the Construction Manager, offers opportunities for impactful contributions and professional advancement, with a clear career path toward becoming a Site Superintendent.
Pay: $42/hr to $45/hr depending on experience (Permanent Full Time)
Mon-Fri, up to 40 hour work week
Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent delivery of top-tier workmanship and accountability among team members, subcontractors, and trade partners.
- Maximize team performance through effective motivation and encouragement.
- Demonstrate skillset to instruct and train apprentice carpenters on all build aspects.
- Capable of contributing as a carpenter at any project stage (foundation to finishing).
- Manage safety initiatives and oversee job site safety for onsite team and subcontractors.
- Run a clean, organized site.
- Follow blueprints and engineering specifications accurately.
- Complete work efficiently and accurately in a timely manner.
- Adhere to city inspections and fire regulations.
- Provide verbal recommendations and feedback on project or staff issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years as a Red Seal Carpenter in residential construction.
- Proficient knowledge of the BC Building Code.
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable team player with a proactive attitude.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively.
- Able to work in fast-paced environments and outdoors.
- Willing to learn project management software.
- Knowledge of progressive building techniques (e.g., passive house).
- Proficient in interpreting contract drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Reliable vehicle to get to and from job sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- A criminal record check may be part of the hiring process.
