The GO Expansion scope includes new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications, and digital systems.

Objective

Prepares in BIM environment the Mainline and Urban (M&U) Signaling Installation Engineering (IE) models in support of one or several Bid/Projects, applying the guidelines established by the BIM team and under the supervision of SIG BIM Coordinator.

Ensure capability in designing and modifying 3D objects in the adequate software used/required by technical environment (Revit, AECOsim, AutoCAD, Microstation, Navisworks). Ensure the application of EHS policies, local regulations, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce the deliverables under the responsibility of the Sig BIM Coordinator.
• Use dedicated tools, procedures, and templates for design development of BIM models.
• Prepare models and drawings packages for submission.
• Prepare reports and schedules for internal use (exports from Revit).
• Contribute to prepare the design under the responsibility of the System BIM Manager and/or Sig BIM Coordinator.
• Produce drawings and BIM models consistent with instruction, guidelines, and CAD/BIM standards.
• Generate BIM models with dedicated tools (Revit MEP).
• Draft/generate plans, diagrams, and schedules in Revit and/or AutoCAD drawings.
• Support the BIM Manager and/or Sig BIM Coordinator in the completion of Subsystem Component Library.
• Assist the BIM Coordinator in checking the deliverables as part of the Sig/System technical validation.
• Provide design assistance to IE Designers and Engineers.
• Attend training sessions set up at team level and project level.
• Ensure application of D&IS Installation and FO Process for IE activities.

Performance measurements

• Assist the Design BIM Coordinator in keeping up to date the list of BIM models and their status.
• Contribute to the enforcement of good practices within the design team.
• Assist the Design BIM Coordinator in reporting of design development to the BIM Manager.

Education & Experience

High school Diploma or technical diploma or equivalent education.

BIM and/or AutoCAD Certification.

Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and ProjectWise preferred.

3+ years' production experience in design, drafting, or engineering (Project and/or construction experience appreciated).

Very good knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel.

Very good knowledge of BIM procedures and tools.

Basic knowledge of Railway products and services on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M) desirable.
