Shutdown Planner, Mill Maintenance
Reporting to the Mill Senior Planner, the Mill Shutdown Planner will be responsible to develop, implement, coordinate, and oversee the maintenance plans and schedules for the Cote Gold project’s shutdown opportunities. The incumbent will incorporate fixed asset strategies and enhance planning processes to improve service quality, data accuracy, efficiency, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1: Facilitate Shutdown Maintenance:
- Plan and release work orders (task lists, SOPs, permits, resourcing, materials, tools, equipment, costs, preliminary work, scheduling dates).
- Prepare shutdown project work packages that include the proper identification of shutdown scope and coordinate to determine important shutdown schedule milestones.
- Maintain a healthy fixed plant maintenance shutdown backlog with ready-to-schedule work on critical equipment.
- Address any associated planning issues, such as operational requirements, parts availability, equipment deficiencies, inadequate work procedures, and data accuracy.
- Seek ways to improve work package requirements and minimize costs without sacrificing safety or quality.
- Lead fixed plant maintenance shutdown preparation, shutdown update and shutdown review meetings.
Area 2: Operational excellence
- Complies with established IAMGOLD asset management process and quality standard.
- Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Offer new approaches, methods, or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Seek for inefficiencies or problems by being proactive and solution driven to implement operational improvements in the maintenance planning department and ensure they are shared with others.
- Contributes to the development and revision of policies and procedures for the mill planning & scheduling department.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement to improve your skills as a Mill Shutdown Planner.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability, and cost).
Area 3: Work collaboratively with others to deliver on effective shutdown maintenance
- Coordinate with the reliability and engineering personnel for the development of maintenance strategies for critical equipment.
- Liaise with technical departments to minimize shutdown delays.
- Provide and act as a communication link between production, maintenance and technical services before and during shutdown opportunities.
- Understand production plans and mill maintenance activities and collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in preparing and coordinating shutdown maintenance activities.
- Work, share and exchange with supervisors, mechanics as well as other members of the maintenance team.
- Communicate with maintenance trades, engineers and supervisors to ensure timely feedback is provided, received, and implemented.
- Facilitate outsourced maintenance repair requests with field employees, management.
- Communicate and coordinate with supply chain partners to ensure efficient collaboration between both departments so that items arrive as scheduled.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Continuous improvement: ensure deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
- College diplomas or university degrees in a related maintenance field.
- A maintenance certification such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (CMRP), Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is a strong asset.
- May accept candidates possessing a trades certificate in a related field of expertise with relevant experience.
Work experience - Nature & Length
- A minimum of 5-7 years of planning experience with processing plant and asset management.
- At least 5 years of proven experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (eAM or similar), with in depth knowledge of eAM data definition.
- Knowledge of shutdown schedule planning, maintenance systems and processes.
- Experience in CMMS implementation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products – Word, Project, Excel, Teams & Power Point.
- MS Project high or expert level.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, showing initiative and creativity.
- Good time management and interpersonal skills.
- Exercises judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Proven communication skills - verbal, written and non-verbal.
- Understand efficient drivers in a mining operation.
- Self-motivated individual who is driven to find solutions and strives for improvement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to prepare accurate records and reports.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
- Knowledge of relevant local legislation.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Programs.
