About the Job

This position is a temporary contract until May 2025.

Responsibilities

  1. Complete product transfers between various buildings in Canopy’s Smiths Falls Campus utilizing a 26’ – Temperature Controlled truck (G and D Class).
  2. Ensure that daily activities follow the appropriate company policies, SOPs and regulations.
  3. Liaise with customers and ensure lead times are managed to meet service level agreements.
  4. Schedule, track and trace movements supporting product deliveries.
  5. Develop delivery schedules, drop shipment strategies based on forecasted volumes and identify gaps.
  6. Promote safety awareness.
  7. Collaborate with various Brinks teams across Canada to provide service options.
  8. Certify seamless transition with employees/affiliates of pick-up and deliveries.
  9. Maintain an accurate record of inventory usage, transportation and asset records.
  10. Prepare and present staff reports on on-time performance, scanning accuracy and other SLAs using Brink’s Internal Software as well as Microsoft Office Applications.
  11. Work with the customer’s shared documents, track and record logistic transfers.
  12. Update internal/external files to share details of upcoming transportation requirements, provide Brink’s confirmation and keep record of completion.
  13. Ensure receipt of manifests and related shipment documents from branches when required.
  14. Completion of daily & weekly reporting of operational status metrics with recommended action items.
  15. Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
  16. Assist with people management, discipline, staffing, training and issue resolution, as required.
  17. Prepare correspondence as appropriate and necessary.
  18. Assist with budget preparation and administration.
  19. Daily contact and ongoing coordination with various Global Services teams.

Qualifications

  1. Experience in a logistics or warehousing environment, preferably in a distribution facility.
  2. 2+ years’ experience working in a logistics, transportation or distribution environment.
  3. Excellent decision making skills, ability to identify resolutions that both address the issue and have appropriate impacts on the cost of service.
  4. Previous experience setting and reviewing progress towards targets and ensuring goals are met.
  5. Experience leading, developing and training other employees in a warehouse setting.
  6. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  7. Action oriented and able to maintain composure under pressure.
  8. Previous experience reviewing and analyzing data in Excel, comfortable working in database applications (or/and demonstrated ability to learn new applications).
  9. High school diploma, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  10. May be required to lift and handle multiple pieces weighing up to 35 lbs.
  11. Hours may vary dependent on volumes, may require day, evening and weekend shifts.
  12. Preference for bilingualism (English/French).
