Job Title: Shunt Truck Driver

Department: Shipping

Reporting to: Production Team Leaders

Location: Brampton, ON

Shift: Midnight

Greenfield is looking for a Shunt Truck Driver to join our growing team.

This role will be on a straight midnight shift after all necessary training is completed. Training will be administered on day shift for a minimum of one month and will be extended if necessary.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Production Team Leaders, this dual role will include operator and shunt truck driver duties in which the candidate will be responsible for staging and transporting shipping containers and trailers, while also supporting the packaging business on the production side. The successful candidate will operate the company tractor trailer in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and operate process equipment in a safe and efficient manner while processing alcohol and solvents.

Applicants must be flexible in performing both types of work and be able to work in rotating shifts in order to meet the business’ needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficient container/trailer shunting and placement requirements as needed
  • Performs Production Operator tasks such as preparing/ filling drums, forklift operations, blending chemicals, loading, unloading and line work
  • Positions empty shipping containers for loading and shipping doors
  • Transports loaded shipping containers to secured area of property
  • Visually inspects equipment periodically to detect malfunction, need for repair, adjustment or lubrication
  • Cleans and sanitizes process equipment as required and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of process areas
  • Adheres to and fully complies with the Company’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid AZ license with a minimum of 5 years driving experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a plant environment
  • Community college technical certificate or diploma an asset
  • WHMIS certified, TDG Training, IMO Training
  • Strong communication skills with an aptitude for mechanics
  • Health and Safety Committee experience preferred.
