As a Shot Peen Technician, you will play a critical role in enhancing the strength and reliability of aircraft components through the precise application of shot peening techniques. You will ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements, contributing to the dependability of aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate shot peening equipment according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
Perform shot peening processes on metal components to improve fatigue life and stress resistance.
Inspect and verify treated surfaces using appropriate tools and measurement equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance on shot peening equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process instructions.
Complete all required documentation accurately, including work orders, inspection reports, and process records.
Adhere to all company safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with quality inspectors and other team members to address non-conformances or process improvements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in manufacturing or related fields is an asset).
Previous experience in shot peening or similar metal surface treatment processes is preferred.
CNC machining or operating experience is an asset.
Strong understanding of mechanical and technical principles.
Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to precision and quality.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations is an asset.
