Midland Transport is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Maintenance Shop Supervisor, reporting to the Maintenance Garage Manager for our Toronto Garage. We are looking for someone who has the drive to go above and beyond the call of duty in providing Superior Quality Service for our customers. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.
Shift Monday – Friday (Dayshift 8am - 4:30pm), flexible for occasional evenings or weekends may be required from time to time.

Qualifications:
Education: Trade Certification or College Diploma
Years of Experience: 4-7 years’ experience in a mechanical or supervisory role are required.
Language: Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Professional, accommodating, enthusiastic, and supportive demeanor
Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Functional/Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Responsibilities:
Setting day-to-day operational objectives for the team.
Supervise the technicians' work, ensuring productivity and quality of work being performed on all of fleet in accordance with company, provincial, and federal standards. Auditing fleet appearance and of external vendor repairs may be necessary at times.
Organize overall shop work for technicians and assign tasks as required.
Monitoring workflow and work orders.
Accountable for unit downtime at shop and expediting repairs as required.
Managing client relations both internally and externally.
Performing mechanical work on vehicles or components if required.
Reporting nonconforming situations as well as completing site Safety Assessments.
Ensures adequate parts inventory is maintained at the garage and assists in locating specialized parts when required.
Conduct weekly shop Daily Management meetings with technicians to review Safety, Shop KPI’s and new policies/SOPs.
Actively involved with the training and advancement of shop technician skills and certifications.
Other projects and duties as assigned by the shop manager.
