Position Summary

Repairs heavy machinery and equipment in the shop as directed by the Shop Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Discuss process for requested repairs with supervisor
• Diagnose repairs to be made
• Disassemble components and determine parts and components needed
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components
• Test to ensure safe operation of equipment
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Operate overhead cranes to transport or position larger parts as required
• Maintain a clean and safe area for repairs, including tools
• Ensure and enforce compliance with all company, client, and legislated Safety policies and procedures
• Any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time.

Education and Experience

• Possession of 421A Heavy Equipment Mechanics License an asset
• 5+ years’ experience an asset
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and/or other specifications to determine work procedures
• Computer proficiency to use databases - Caterpillar
• Valid “G” Driver’s license.

Working Conditions

• Typical hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 am to 4:30 pm, Friday, 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, overtime only if requested by supervisor
• Significant physical effort. Significant exposure to environmental conditions. Moderate limited movement.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
