Tasks

1. Establish methods to meet work schedules
2. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
3. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
4. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
5. Hire food service staff
6. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
7. Prepare budget and cost estimates
8. Address customers' complaints or concerns
9. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
10. Prepare and submit reports
11. Prepare food order summaries for chef
12. Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres
13. Supervise and check assembly of trays
14. Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys
15. Establish work schedules
16. Participate in marketing plans and implementation
17. Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
18. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
19. Conduct performance reviews
20. Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
21. Provide customer service
22. Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
23. Organize and maintain inventory
24. Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
25. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
