Shared Services Technician Engagement

Type: Temporary Contractor (6-month contract)

Location: Onsite in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Taylor Hopkinson is partnering with a leading renewable energy company to hire a Shared Services Technician. Our client is a global leader in low-carbon energy solutions, dedicated to driving the transition to a sustainable future. This role is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with expertise in shared services to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with fraud prevention measures related to vendor bank validations.
  • Submit source updates and review changes to certain Master Data.
  • Review and resolve unbilled receipts (MR11 report).
  • Complete SAP User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for processes impacting shared services functions.
  • Match source documents with internal procure-to-pay and sales workflow, against customer and vendor receiving documents.
  • Disburse and collect manual payments, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare manual banking requests online via the bank’s web portal.
  • Assist external vendor stakeholders with ad hoc requests, statement audits, and confirmation of outstanding documents, including reconciliation of stakeholder balances.
  • Audit internal disbursement, receiving, or expense reports via company’s online platforms.
  • Perform general ledger (GL) account reconciliation and FEBAN monitoring.
  • Execute monthly stale-dated and escheatment processes.
  • Maintain accurate records, both physical and electronic, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or designee.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise purchasing systems, including purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in vendor management and customer service.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in computerized accounting or shared services processing, preferably within the utilities or renewable energy industry.

Additional Information:

  • This role requires the ability to work onsite in Calgary for the duration of the contract.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
