STAB23H3 Introduction to Statistics for the Social Sciences
This course covers the basic concepts of statistics and the statistical methods most commonly used in the social sciences. The first half of the course introduces descriptive statistics, contingency tables, normal probability distribution, and sampling distributions. The second half of the course introduces inferential statistical methods including significance tests for a mean (t-test), significance tests for a proportion, comparing two groups (e.g., comparing two proportions, comparing two means), associations between categorical variables (e.g., Chi-square test of independence), and simple linear regression.
LEC01: TUE 12-1pm & THU 12-2pm. Course is ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS.

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of an ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; submission of a deferred exam; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs assigned to course.
55 hours per tutorial.
May 2 - August 31, 2025
NOTE: Rate of pay is $15,000 per half-course, higher than the posted amount.
