Position: Sessional Lecturer (1 Position - CUPE 3902, Unit 2)
CRE272H1S Song, Lyrics, and Songwriting - A course exploring song and lyrics in various musical genres, with a review of major developments in the repertoire. Topics addressed could include the ethics of borrowed forms, instrumentation and collaboration, commercial songwriting standards and practices, major aspects of music industries, and reception. Students will have the opportunity to create compositions, and pursue projects related to aspects of the field. Musical ability and training are not required.
Expected course time: Fridays, 11 am – 1 pm
Enrolment cap: 35
Dates of appointment: January 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026
Course Modality: In-person, Victoria College campus
Teaching Assistant: There is no TA support.
The salary will be as per the CUPE agreement (e.g., September 2023 Sessional Lecturer rate is $9,457.90 including vacation pay).
