Description:
Reporting to the Dean of Science, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science. This course provides an introduction to computer graphics and visualization, covering basic properties of display devices, graphics objects, and common graphics operations. The use of colour, texture, lighting, and perspective will be surveyed, along with development using graphics packages, including GPU programming, and visualization techniques.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The primary responsibility of the applicant is to develop and teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course on computer graphics at the university level. Utilizing a technology-enhanced learning approach, the Sessional Lecturer will prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments (with assistance from Teaching Assistants) and be available for consultation with students. The Sessional Lecturer is responsible for compiling and submitting the final grades for individual students in a timely fashion.
This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement. Candidates will be required to certify that they are currently legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent teaching contributions with a proven aptitude for teaching computer science at the undergraduate level.
