The Solution Architect – ITOM/Discovery is a key member of the Service Management Tools team and is responsible for the overall design of the application and mapping client business requirements from the project team to systems/technical requirements. The Solution Architect works as a team member along with the Project Manager, Technical Architects and supporting team members to deliver the complete solution for the customer.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign
- Provide architecture and technical direction for design and implementation
- Perform custom or OOTB demonstrations as required
- Provide subject matter expertise and industry best practices
- Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements
- Co-team with other Technical Architects to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements
- Participate and provide inputs to effort estimates
- Maintain current ServiceNow knowledge through self-study and utilization of available training
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent preferred
- Advanced experience with ServiceNow CMDB, IRE, Discovery, and SGC integrations (SCCM, Tanium, WorkspaceOne, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, IRE and Discovery/SGC configuration/implementation and custom development/scoped applications
- Hands-on experience with client-side development: UI Policies, Client Scripts, AJAX, etc.
- Hands-on experience with server-side development: Glide Server APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, etc.
- Design, architect and innovate in the latest areas of IT Operations Management such as Observability, Event Management, Cloud Discovery, Service Mapping, Cloud Technologies and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) data framework
- Experience with ITOM principles that integrate holistically with ITSM and/or ITIL processes for effective operations
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs
- Knowledge of web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in professional services or customer support operations
- 3-6 years of ServiceNow systems integration and/or implementation experience
- Proven solutions consulting experience
- Ability to work on multiple projects with varying complexity
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to simplify complex solutions
- Must have ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD and CIS Discovery)
- Preferred ServiceNow certification (Service Mapping)
- Nice to have ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) experience
- Nice to have development & operation pipeline experience
- Nice to have business architecture experience
