Are you good with your hands, have a knack for all things technical? Join the Johnston Equipment team as a Road Service Technician! The ideal candidate will be skilled with mechanical, electrical, and information technology skills.
Goals:
- Achieve results through accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively and provide information in a timely manner
- Demonstrate functional expertise in electrical and mechanical verticals
Activities:
- Examine overall operational integrity and condition of the trucks
- Diagnose, adjust/repair mechanical, hydraulic or electrical parts then communicating and executing next steps for repair solutions to the customer
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals.
- Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures
- As a technician, you are the front line contact between GNJ and the customer, so you are comfortable with client contact as well as being technical savvy
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience
- Perform duties in inclement weather, with exposure to severe weather conditions
- Must have a Truck and Coach 310T Certification or Heavy Duty Technician Certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment
- Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements
- Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
- Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus.
- Able to interpret and implement technical procedures
- Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Effective analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Possess a valid driver’s license

Testing is part of our selection process. Each applicant selected to move forward will be required to complete testing for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge.

Pay: $67,537.00-$95,459.00 per year
