Who are we looking for as a Service Technician? Patterson Dental Ottawa is looking for a worker who is interested in the field of bio-medical (dental) device and equipment repair. As a Service Technician, you provide repair and installation on a variety of dental equipment and products including networking, computers and software in a Windows environment. The Service Technician learns and follows manufacturer guidelines relative to the repair of devices.
Major Duties:
Independently makes assigned customer calls, diagnosing problems to a module or specific component level.
Loads, delivers, installs, configures and trains customers on the basic use and maintenance of the equipment sold.
Provides technical support after initial installation of equipment (software & hardware).
Uses, maintains and secures test equipment and tools used to adjust, calibrate and repair equipment.
Determines parts, supplies or tools needed to complete service requests
Relays any special problems to the Service Coordinator following each call.
Ensures that standard response times committed to the Service Coordinator are met.
Works with Sales Representatives to present Maintenance Agreements to customers.
Follows repair and manufacturer schedules for customers on Service Agreements.
Coordinates with other Patterson sales professionals to demonstrate and sell equipment and technology.
Proactively seeks opportunities to discuss equipment and technology solutions based on specific customer needs and emerging trends in the dental industry.
Completes all required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, BRH forms, inventory, expense reports and/or purchase card statements or equipment related items).
Returns defective modules assemblies or parts to the local office and labels items.
Maintains and restocks parts trucks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job qualifications:
Electronics diploma required.
Valid driver's license and in order required.
Basic computer skills required.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Motivated team player.
Strong customer service skills.
2 to 3 years of experience in repair field in a dental/medical environment.
Carpentry/plumbing/heating/electricity/electronics related experience required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
Applicants from Brockville or Kingston are preferred.
Knowledge of the dental industry is an asset.
