The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor of Support and User Experience, the Service Desk Specialist is responsible for all end-user technology and access for staff at the City of Barrie. Working closely with the Security Lead, the Service Desk Specialist receives and actions security threat notifications including locking access, remote system scanning, and account credential resets. They are the first-line responders to any information technology service requests and incidents, receiving, triaging, resolving, and/or escalating any problems with City IT systems. This position also packages, configures, deploys, and supports all hardware and desktop software (PC's and peripherals, mobile devices, printers, AV equipment, etc.) to enable City staff in all departments to work efficiently while also administering and maintaining user, group, data, and application security as per established policies and procedures.

Location: City Hall, 70 Collier Street, Barrie, Ontario
*Please note that the City has a Hybrid Work Program Procedure that may allow a hybrid work arrangement for employees who meet the eligibility requirements.
Hours: The normal hours of work are 35 hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
