Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Children and Families, the Service Coordinator Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the effective implementation and administration of service coordination activities within Manitoba. This role ensures that Claimants have access to appropriate support services through timely and accurate referrals under the Claimant Support Framework. This role serves Claimants eligible under the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan's Principle Settlement, ensuring access to essential services that support their well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage the Service Coordinators for the Manitoba region, this includes making sure they have completed their onboarding and training and that they are following the processes and procedures set-up for their program.
  2. Identify and update an inventory of existing services within communities.
  3. Ensure Service Coordinators are up to date on the existing services offered within their respective communities.
  4. Coordinate with key partners including regional offices, Province-Territory organizations, Chiefs and Council, local community organization, health networks, Indigenous Service Canada (ISC) Regional Offices to keep the service inventory up to date.
  5. Communicate and share the service inventory and knowledge across the Claims Helper Program for the local community.
  6. Record and report on gaps identified for services within communities.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with First Nations leaders, First Nations citizens, and others to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  8. Set-up and oversee necessary administrative processes relevant to the Service Coordinators (i.e., expense reports, time tracking, activity reporting).
  9. Attend onboarding and training activities as needed.
  10. Synthesize and share learning insights from Service Coordinators with the overall Claim Helper Program.
  11. Collaborate with the rest of the Deloitte team, and other relevant partners to ensure Claim Helper Program and Service Coordinators work closely together, and that feedback and learnings are shared with all relevant teams.

Qualifications: Education & Experience

  1. 5+ years of relevant experience working with and supporting First Nations communities’ access social services, health services, and other services as required.
  2. Excellent written and spoken communication skills and people management skills.
  3. Political knowledge of your region and an understanding of Canada’s history and relationship with First Nations.
  4. Experience working with leaders and partners in First Nations environments.
  5. Excellent time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  6. Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
  7. An ability to build trust and maintain confidential information.
  8. Experience developing and implementing strategies, including outreach and communication plans.
  9. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  10. Canadian travel required up to 40% of the time (to be reimbursed), including air and car travel. This may include overnight travel.
  11. Ability to navigate difficult conversations and manage trauma-informed discussions.
  12. Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
  13. Must have a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Clear Child Abuse Checks.
