Server Administrator

Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Server Administrator who will implement and administer our on-premises server infrastructure and Cloud services utilizing industry and security best practices. This opportunity is located onsite in Regina, SK.

Responsibilities:

1. Helps prepare plans for development and installation of server and storage according to present and future requirements.
2. Provide expert technical design, implementation, and administration of the Microsoft on-premises Server environment and Azure cloud environment.
3. Provides expert technical support with the VMware environment including but not limited to VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon.
4. Provide expert technical support, implementation on Microsoft Server environment.
5. Monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting and resolution of system problems to ensure system availability.
6. Manage and maintain server disaster recovery including planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
7. Manage and maintain the configuration, administration, upgrade, and maintenance of operational technology servers and related infrastructure.
8. Interacts with our user base (corporate and field employees) on an as needed basis regarding technology issues and escalations.
9. Works with server patch management processes and procedures to facilitate deployment.
10. Maintains systems integrity through change control and problem management procedures and communication with internal customers.
11. Follows Standard Operating Procedures when carrying out position responsibilities.
12. Attends and participates in team meetings.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 5 years of recent and practical server administration experience. Experience should incorporate cloud services.
2. Proven competency in technical design, implementation, and administration of the Microsoft on premises server environment and Azure cloud environment (Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy administration).
3. Proven competency in technical support with the VMware environment, including but not limited to VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon.
4. Proven competency with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) administration.
5. Experience in influencing and establishing collaboration direction within an organization.
6. Understanding of enterprise-level on-premises server and cloud architecture.
7. Understanding of integrations between an on-premises environment and the cloud.
8. Relevant job experience in North America.
9. Experience with implementation, documentation, administration and troubleshooting of the enterprise server environment.
10. Willing to participate in the after hours on call rotation.
11. Proven competency with server, storage, and cloud storage security best practices.
12. Currently hold a valid class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License (or equivalent).
13. Must be willing to travel outside of Regina, including occasional overnight stays.
