The Opportunity:

Aviso is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Customer Experience (CX) team for 12 Months. Reporting to the Director, UX Design, the Senior UX Designer is responsible for leading user-centered design and delivering clear, engaging, and compelling experiences for the customers of one of Aviso’s LOBs. Your solid understanding of the psychology of user-centered design, UX principles, and information architecture will enable you to design seamless, intuitive solutions that deliver on user and business objectives.

What your day looks like:

• Identify, analyze, and perform user research and data analysis to clarify opportunities and set target metrics.
• Develop conceptual diagrams, task flows, information architecture, wireframes, and interaction design specifications.
• Conduct competitive analysis and learn industry standards.
• Produce product prototypes to aid in user testing activities.
• Take ownership over your product area and create vision documents and iteration plans.
• Collaborate with Product and Development to implement UX designs.
• Evangelize the ROI of user-centered design with our business partners.
• Provide feedback, critique, and guidance to fellow designers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of UX design for both mobile apps and responsive web.
• Ability to articulate a clear rationale for design decisions and knowledge of UX/UI principles.
• Familiarity with lean, Agile processes.
• Strong experience with wireframing tools, ideally Figma or Adobe XD.
• Knowledge of accessibility, WCAG, and AODA standards.
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
• Strong collaboration and workshopping skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to organize information into actionable insights.
• Proven track record of conducting user research and writing test plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• An online portfolio demonstrating your design rationale.
• Familiarity with the investment or financial services industries is an asset.
• Undergraduate degree in Human Computer Interaction or Graphic/Digital Design is an asset.
• Fluent communication in English is required; bilingual in French is an asset.

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $100 - 130 CAD hourly.
