Senior or Associate Urban Planner (RPP)
Toronto, Ontario - HYBRID
Salary: 95-115k (base) + bonus + RRSP

ROLE OVERVIEW
Our client is an award-winning firm with multiple offices and projects across Canada, looking to hire an experienced RPP with policy planning experience to join their Toronto Team. They are a multi-disciplinary team of Landscape Architects, Designers, and Urban Planners, involved with a nice range of projects and repeat business.
They seek a Senior or Associate Urban Planner with 5-9 years of private sector work experience in a consulting environment. They aim to expand their business working with property developers on mid to rise projects as well as mixed-use institutional projects. You are an RPP with policy planning experience; preparing policy reports and recommendations on mid to larger projects.


You will be doing research, planning policy analysis, report writing, technical report review, urban design guideline review, application preparation, submission, and community engagement in support of development proposals and projects.


The role requires someone experienced in land use planning related to regional and municipal studies. You can develop and deliver project work plans and public engagement plans; are comfortable liaising with clients and consultants and providing project management and planning advice under the guidance of an Associate or Principal. You can collaborate across disciplines (planning, design, landscape, technical, data analytics) to complete deliverables.


QUALIFICATIONS
They seek candidates who will have the following credentials:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning from an accredited university
  2. 6-9 years of relevant work experience with knowledge of the Planning process, related to developer-led projects, and the legislative and policy framework in Ontario is required
  3. RPP designation completed and in good standing - Project Sheet of Developer led private sector projects
  4. Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects both as part of a team or independently towards the preparation of project deliverables
  5. Ability to maintain positive networks and relationships
  6. Leadership skills to mentor others and grow into more senior roles
  7. Business development skills a big plus; but not required
