Hunter McCorquodale is a Managing General Agent and Lloyd’s Coverholder whose core mission is to develop, distribute and underwrite unique Special Risk Disability, Accident and Contingency products, providing solutions to insurance advisors whose client needs cannot be fully satisfied by traditional insurance markets. We pride ourselves on our innovative problem solving capabilities to profitably manage unique underwriting risks on behalf of Lloyd’s, London and other insurer partners. As the Senior Underwriter, working alongside the Manager, Underwriting and Claims Services, as class underwriter for Lloyd’s Disability, Personal Accident and Contingent Contract Protection insurances. The role will be an integral part of a small yet, robust underwriting team with a high degree of authority granted under our Lloyd’s binding authorities. The Senior Underwriter’s medical and financial underwriting confidence and abilities will be relied on heavily to make sound commercial underwriting decisions in respect of complex cases which, for the most part, would be considered uninsurable in traditional markets due to high limits, medical, life-style or risk history. While building relationships with Lloyd’s Underwriters and other external underwriting consultants in complementary product lines, your expertise will be called upon to assist in overseeing and refining our underwriting and policy issue procedures.
