The Opportunity

We strive to deliver a high quality, reliable, 24x7 Payment Acceptance Platform via a SaaS model. The Senior Tools Engineer position is responsible for designing, creating, and sustaining the software engineering tools used to manage the platform and its supporting systems. They work closely with developers, QA, and Operations to identify, implement, document, and sustain the automated build, deployment, configuration, test, and integration tools. The role supports a wide array of technologies, with solutions ranging from mobile development (Android/iOS) to backend and frontend technologies like C# and Java-based tool-chains. We are a fast-paced and dynamic company that is looking to add new team members who are up for a challenge.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Act as a critical part of a multi-team effort to deliver, manage, and maintain automation tools such as CI/CD/build pipelines, automated testing solutions, and configuration/deployment management.
2. Lead translation of requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable automation systems for you and your peers to implement.
3. Develop your skills as a technical mentor through peer reviews and other collaborative engineering practices.
4. Coordinate with production operations teams to help with ad-hoc troubleshooting and occasionally join during system maintenance hours.
5. Contribute to platform quality and maintainability by writing automation scripts, managing tools, and ensuring solutions are repeatable, automated, and documented clearly.

Who Are We Looking For

1. You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a software development-related field.
2. 8+ years working in software development tools/deployment or operations-related fields.
3. Motivation and passion for teamwork and mentorship with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a drive to learn new technologies.
4. You’ve got substantial knowledge of build, deployment, and configuration (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Bamboo, Octopus, Jenkins, Ansible, and cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure.
5. Have substantial experience with software development practices and tools like GIT/Stash and are familiar with the processes used to build complex software solutions, such as Maven, Ant, Visual Studio/MSBuild, CMake, Android Developer Studio, and other development environments.
6. Able to write scripts and automations in languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python, and other scripting languages.
7. Familiar with software development life cycle frameworks and processes (Scrum).
