As a senior leader, you will play a crucial role in expanding our engineering capabilities, driving project delivery excellence, and nurturing client relationships across Ontario and Canada.

This role goes beyond traditional management—it's an opportunity to shape the future of our mechanical engineering practice. You will work with a team of engineers and technologists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that include engineering design, regulatory compliance, and innovative low-carbon solutions.

In this role You Will Report To:

Until the Mechanical Engineering business leadership is established in Mississauga, the Senior Technical Manager will report to the National Practice Lead for Mechanical, while also receiving local support for day-to-day operations from the Mississauga office.

What you will be doing at Pinchin:

1. Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering team, overseeing project delivery, design reviews, and quality assurance.
2. Implement strategies to expand the Mississauga office and its capabilities, with potential for assuming a broader leadership role.
3. Drive client development by maintaining and growing client relationships, and actively participating in business development activities.
4. Lead the design and management of mechanical HVAC, plumbing systems, and low-carbon electrification projects.
5. Manage and participate in energy audits, specialist reports, and GHG reduction studies in existing buildings.
6. Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
7. Prepare cost estimates, business cases, and detailed project reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
8. Provide thought leadership by means of Webinars and client presentations.

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

1. A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and a P.Eng. designation in Ontario. Additional certifications (LEED, CEM) would be an asset.
2. 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, with a strong background in project management and team leadership.
3. Previous consulting experience is a must for this role.
4. 5 plus years of proven experience in managing operations, including resource planning, budgeting, and process optimization.
5. Strong client relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to develop new and grow existing relationships.
6. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication and technical writing skills.
7. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
8. Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD, IES, Trace software, and other relevant tools.
9. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various client sites locally and to adjacent provinces.
