About the Talent Acquisition role
We’re looking for an outstanding full cycle Talent Acquisition professional to join Float. This is a super exciting and critical individual contributor role, recruiting across all functions and levels (entry level to director). We hire the best of the best and have an incredibly high talent bar which means we are actively sourcing top talent and prioritize quality and fit every time - sometimes that means that roles take a while to fill, but we are persistent and wait until we find exactly what we were looking for.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the entire recruitment process from end to end:
- Partnering with Float hiring managers to understand their hiring needs - becoming a true and trusted partner in all things recruitment
- Creating candidate success profiles and workback plans - identifying those unique and critical candidate “must haves” at each stage of the interview process and ensuring we have a hire date to work backwards to.
- Writing top notch job descriptions - ones that are captivating and capture the true essence of the role
- Actively source the best talent - not just using the traditional methods, but ones that are creative and highly effective, packaging key information that gets our message across and gets strong candidate responses.
- Providing an exceptional candidate experience - screen, interview and reply to candidates in a thoughtful way and in a timely manner, ensuring that we get back to all candidates
- Interviewing and evaluating candidates - asking nuanced questions for each role and team, actively listening, and assessing for technical/functional skills and fit
- Managing the candidate pipeline and candidate experience - keep our TA systems up to date and keeping teams and candidates informed at all times
- Leading candidate debriefs - structured discussions with all interviewers to determine candidate fit based on the success profile and job description
- Offer management - work with the hiring managers and head of people to align on offer details and prepare for offer
- Reporting on our talent acquisition metrics - ensure your recruitment dashboards are up to date so that we can tweak our interview approach using a data informed approach
You’ll be great in this role if:
- You’ve got the experience. You’re a high performing seasoned full cycle recruiter who has recruited for go-to-market, product, engineering and design, functional areas and more, at all levels. Ideally someone with 7 years as a recruiter and who started their career at an agency and then moved in-house. Someone who has SaaS/tech recruiting experience at well-known highly sought-after companies. You are a true partner to the business and are relied upon for your expert opinion and insights.
- You’re obsessed with your craft. You truly love what you do and every part of the recruitment life cycle. You’ve got great stats to share and know where your gaps are. You are always honing your skills and researching what is new and exciting in the world of talent acquisition. You love learning and growing, and you take each experience and build those learnings into your next hire.
- You’re an incredible sourcer. You have strong instincts for great talent. You know what it looks like and you know exactly where to find it. You are creative in how and where you find top talent and are known for your compelling outreach messages. Messages that cut through the noise and get amazing response and interest rates.
- You have a super high bar for talent. You want to hire the very best candidate for the role and won’t be satisfied until you’ve found that person. You are focused on quality over quantity and get even more determined to find that right candidate if your previous candidates didn’t pass the interview stage.
- You’re driven and action oriented. You have an extremely strong work ethic and approach each situation with energy and enthusiasm. You strive to excel in every aspect of your work. You approach every challenge committed and determined to achieve or exceed expectations and act with a sense of urgency.
- You’re highly networked and have a strong understanding of the market. You’re known in the industry for recruiting top talent and you have built a strong candidate pool over the years. You have an ear to the ground on who might be looking for their next opportunity or know someone who knows someone and can get an introduction. You understand the tech space and all its nuances and have strong business acumen and can talk the talk.
- You’re a compelling communicator. You draw people in with your verbal and written communication. You get candidates super-pumped and fired up about Float to the point where they don’t want to interview anywhere else. You are succinct and to the point and easily convey important details to both candidates and interviewers. You are an intent listener, incredibly insightful and can articulate those hard to pinpoint details that others miss.
- You’re a critical thinker and naturally curious. You can take in a lot of information and have excellent judgment. You can connect the dots and help people understand the impact of various decisions. You want to understand each role in a deep way. You aren’t a box checker and go beyond the standard questions to get a greater understanding. You ask the best questions in the moment that help you make the most informed decision. You are voracious and want to know the ‘why’ behind why each candidate may or may not be a fit, so that you can incorporate that into your next effort.
This role won’t be a fit if:
- You don’t love to spend most of your time actively sourcing and recruiting
- You aren’t obsessed with your craft
- You don’t have great instincts for great talent
- You don’t have a high sense of urgency and drive
- You are not a self-starter and do not like to work independently
- You get frustrated when your candidates don’t move forward in the process
- You are focused on high volume vs quality
Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role, and you strongly align with our values but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this, or other future positions.
