Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $38.12/Hr. - CAD $54.80/Hr.
Summary:
Providence Health Care is now hiring for a permanent, full-time Senior Systems Analyst to join their super exciting new DevOps Enablement team. As the organization gears up for the opening of the New St. Paul's Hospital in 2027, this team will help ensure our clinical teams have the organizational support they need to continue to deliver exceptional patient care.
Reporting to the DevOps Manager, the Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration and support of the Health Informatics business and clinical systems, applications, and related automations. The Senior Systems Analyst provides hands-on support for business and clinical teams across PHC. This role conducts business system analysis and provides technical consulting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of systems initiatives such as enhancements and upgrades.
Your duties will include:
- Technical Troubleshooting & Support: Responds to escalated incidents, troubleshoots complex cloud-based applications and services, and ensures timely resolutions. Acts as a liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams, leveraging technical expertise to address challenging issues and implement effective solutions.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Creates and maintains high-quality documentation for procedures, common issues, and solutions to support troubleshooting efforts and cross-team collaboration. Provides guidance to the Systems Analyst team to improve their skills and maintain operational continuity.
- Proactive Monitoring & Optimization: Utilizes monitoring tools to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users. Analyzes system performance, recommends optimizations, and supports cost attribution efforts for efficient resource utilization.
- Process Improvement & Transition Support: Assists with implementing infrastructure changes and transitioning to new tools and processes. Proactively identifies opportunities for workflow improvements and ensures security compliance during troubleshooting and incident management.
What You Bring:
Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, plus six (6) years recent related experience in an information systems technical environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience in providing enterprise support in a complex technology environment with focus on process automation, incorporating best practices, technology efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience implementing and/or supporting ITSM capabilities.
- Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps and/or Amazon Web Services cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Jira.
- Expertise in the designated software application(s) and ability in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications as a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting knowledge for technical solutions.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting knowledge on database management, data querying and reporting.
- Demonstrated skills in data research, gathering, and business and systems analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational problems and recommend innovative solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology and to translate business needs into application or systems requirements.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.

Your Day to Day:
- Responds to escalated incidents, diagnoses issues, and provides effective resolutions.
- Conducts in-depth troubleshooting of cloud-based applications and services (both commercially acquired and developed in-house), including use of networking, storage, and compute resources.
- Escalates critical issues to the relevant Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams as appropriate, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Communicates with clients, including end-users, to gather additional information, update them on ticket status, and provide resolutions or workarounds. This includes acting as a liaison between the relevant SME teams as needed.
- Creates and maintains documentation for common issues, solutions, and procedures to aid in future troubleshooting efforts. This includes creating and updating documents related to performance of duties on the different cloud platforms supported, to a quality that allows coverage of duties during absences.
- Utilizes monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues proactively before situations arise, such as impacting the end users.
- Works closely with vendor support and/or internal development teams to resolve complex problems that require deeper technical expertise or alteration to the software, including incorporating up to date content.
- Assists in the implementation of changes to cloud infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Analyzes system performance and recommends improvements or optimizations based on metrics and client feedback. This includes supporting management efforts to perform per project cost attribution and optimization.
- Provides guidance and support to the Systems Analyst team to help them advance their troubleshooting skills and knowledge, including providing content that can be readily incorporated into System Analyst reference materials.
- Understands and implements security best practices in a cloud environment and ensures compliance during troubleshooting and incident management, in coordination with the Cybersecurity Lead.
- Validates and tests potential solutions or patches before deployment to ensure they resolve the issue without introducing additional problems.
- Supports the introduction and transition to new processes and tools intended to elevate stable and reliable software form test to production environments.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvements within the support workflow and contributes to developing more efficient practices.
- Attends team meetings, participates in team discussions, and provides input on the development of service support, technical procedures and criteria.
- Perform other duties as required.
