Description

Basic Function

Responsible for creating and executing corporate demand and replenishment plans that ensure continuous inventory availability while managing inventory holding costs and minimizing product expiry. This role will engage both internal and external stakeholders via a Sales and Operational Planning process and reporting of key operational metrics.

This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain.

Detailed Responsibilities

General

  • Ensure the timely flow of product supply from supplier to end-user to meet sales demand and avoid product outages for the Canadian market.
  • Overall supply chain cost optimization including inventory carrying costs, product obsolescence, and inbound costs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global vendors/partners by developing a positive rapport with SteriMax vendors, partners, and CMOs.
  • Use 6-Sigma principles to effectively design new processes and align existing ones to optimally support the supply chain operation.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements in addition to corporate standards and policies.
  • Build and manage reporting and metric tools.

Supply Chain Analytics

  • Generate and publish all departmental weekly and monthly reports.
  • Develop and communicate prescribed Supply Chain metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify and provide feedback for root cause analysis and corrective action for KPI targets and other supply chain related issues.
  • Proactively identify cost-savings opportunities and provide financial and operational recommendations by utilizing lean six sigma and best-in-class optimization techniques.
  • Automate reports using reporting development tools (e.g., Brickbase and JET).
  • Lead project management to support all supply chain improvement initiatives.

Product – Production, Procurement and Forecasting

  • Determine the optimal safety stock requirements by SKU and ensure those requirements are consistently met across the global supply chain.
  • Develop and lead a corporate Sales & Operational Planning process including Sales, Marketing, QA, and finance.
  • Create 24-month demand rolling forecasts by SKU for all finished and API products and a 12-18 month master PO scheduler by vendor. Proactive engagement of key internal/external stakeholders is important for forecast and PO schedule generation.
  • Coordinate the supply of packaging and API materials to the respective manufacturing site to ensure timely and efficient production of goods.
  • Manage all Supply Chain facets related to product launches.
  • Manage and communicate required timelines for the release and packaging activities of products to meet inventory and business requirements.
  • Overall purchase order management scheduling, reporting, and process facilitation.
  • Develop and roll out departmental KPI dashboard.
  • Act as a key contact to major suppliers, partners, and CMOs in tandem with the Associate Director.

Logistics Support

  • Support the logistics team to ensure efficient and accurate receiving, shipping, and warehousing of all items including finished products, packaging, and API.
  • Ensure all export, import, and local shipments are completed as per business requirements.
  • Ensure that inventory received is entered into the accounting system and that adjustments to cost of goods are completed as required.
  • Represent Supply Chain as the key support designate as required by Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of proven strategic sourcing and replenishment experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Access knowledge is a definite asset.
  • A numbers person who is very attentive to detail.
  • Hands-on experience leading the development and roll-out of corporate S&OP.
  • Minimum 3 years “hands-on” ERP experience.
  • Self-initiative and ability to operate independently.
  • Highly motivated with a solution-oriented style and understanding when to seek guidance.

Education/Experience

  • University Degree preferred; minimum College Diploma in a related field.
  • Supply Chain certification or working towards achieving one (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP, IBF, etc.)
  • Relevant membership in any supply chain related organization would be an asset.
