Senior Structural Engineer

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Hamilton. About the role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to lead the delivery of projects, as well as provide technical expertise on complex residential and industrial designs. Your ability to understand client needs, propose innovative solutions, and drive project success whilst establishing and maintaining client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of talented Structural Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
• Oversee the delivery of a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the highest standards of design, execution, and client satisfaction.
• Manage the team’s workload, ensuring efficient project delivery while being hands-on with preliminary designs, supervising detailed designs, on-site investigations, and technical development.

About you

• CPEng qualified with 10 years+ professional structural engineering experience in New Zealand, with solid technical expertise in seismic design.
• Client-facing expertise with the ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships while understanding their needs and delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• A solid understanding of project management, from cost estimation and tender submissions to project scheduling and delivery.
• Commercially astute mindset, with a focus on risk management, client satisfaction, and driving business growth.
• Problem-solving attitude, thriving on challenges and motivated to deliver results even in complex or high-pressure situations.
• Enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with a wide range of people.
