Overview:
As a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET), you will be part of a small, highly focused team responsible for the delivery of highly scalable and robust services within our platform. You will work directly in code to design testing solutions for web applications and API services of a large-scale system. You will drive continual improvement in your team’s automation frameworks and coverage while mentoring other SDETs in the team on industry-leading test practices. You will support the team’s testing efforts to ensure quality of coverage, quality of code, and quality of delivery.

What you will be doing:

1. Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, infrastructure, and tools
2. Define and automate test cases that verify product requirements
3. Participate in team planning and story grooming
4. Participate in test execution, issue identification, and resolution in support of the release
5. Provide suggestions to improve automation and test processes
6. Develop and maintain shared testing libraries
7. Provide training, mentorship, and support to other members of the team
8. Conduct code reviews, improve and maintain the quality of the automation code
9. Document the automation framework, tools, and infrastructure

What you must have:

1. Minimum 8 years of experience in software testing
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in test development
3. Strong understanding of Java, JavaScript, or Typescript
4. Strong understanding of testing practices in an agile environment
5. Strong ability to traverse log files for troubleshooting or debugging
6. Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, Web Driver IO
7. Experience with API-based tools such as Postman or Rest Assured
8. Experience working across multiple teams coordinating integration tests
9. Experience with any of the following is an asset:
1. Testing performance with JMeter or similar tools
2. Contract testing frameworks such as PACT
3. Web services technology such as REST or JSON
4. Big data technology such as Kafka, Hadoop, MongoDB or SQL
5. Continuous integration systems such as Jenkins or Bamboo

Salary/Rate Range: $85,000—$110,000 CAD
