About the role

Intact Corporation Financial is an innovative company specialized in insurance, providing advanced cybersecurity solutions to secure businesses' applications and infrastructures. We are looking for a developer passionate about application security to join our dynamic team and contribute to the creation of secure solutions.

As a Developer in the Application Security team, you will be responsible for integrating advanced security mechanisms into our products and applications. You will also be involved in detecting and resolving vulnerabilities, implementing secure development best practices, and optimizing the performance and resilience of our systems.

What you’ll do here:

  • Design and develop secure Java applications following secure development best practices.
  • Analyze and fix security vulnerabilities in existing applications.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) and DevSecOps tools.
  • Implement security mechanisms such as encryption, multi-factor authentication, secure protocols, and access controls.
  • Participate in defining system architecture and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Collaborate with product teams and cybersecurity experts to ensure the integration of secure solutions.
  • Conduct internal security audits and participate in penetration testing.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation related to developments and security practices.
  • Perform technological watch on new trends in cybersecurity and Java development.

What you bring to the table:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Java development, with a strong focus on application security.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity concepts and tools (cryptography, identity management, data protection, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Java security frameworks (Spring Security, OWASP, etc.).
  • Experience with security testing, code audits, and vulnerability analysis tools.
  • Good knowledge of databases and web technologies (REST, SOAP, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a team within an agile environment.
  • Autonomy, precision, and problem-solving skills.
  • Cybersecurity certification (CISSP, CEH, etc.), an asset.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required; however, must be eligible to work in Canada.

What we offer

Our hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.

Working here means you'll be empowered to be and do your best every day. Here is some of what you can expect as a permanent member of our team:

  • A financial rewards program that recognizes your success.
  • An industry-leading Employee Share Purchase Plan; we match 50% of net shares purchased.
  • An extensive flex pension and benefits package, with access to virtual healthcare.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Possibility to purchase up to 5 extra days off per year.
  • An annual wellness account that promotes an active and healthy lifestyle.
  • Access to tools and resources to support physical and mental health, embracing change and connecting with colleagues.
  • A dynamic workplace learning ecosystem complete with learning journeys, interactive online content, and inspiring programs.
  • Inclusive employee-led networks to educate, inspire, amplify voices, build relationships and provide development opportunities.
  • Inspiring leaders and colleagues who will lift you up and help you grow.
  • A Community Impact program, because what you care about is a part of what makes you different. And how you contribute to your community should be just as unique.
