Position Summary

NanoVation Therapeutics (NTx) is looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Senior/Research Associate, Formulation.

Reporting to the Senior Scientist I, Formulation, our Senior/Research Associate, Formulation will be responsible for designing, executing, analyzing, and making recommendations on research protocols for our internal projects.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Formulation Research

1. Executes formulation research in support of our research goals and plans.
2. Performs experiments and conducts activities in support of pharmaceutical formulation, analytical development and characterization and performance testing of pharmaceutical formulations.
3. Prepares LNP formulations including production, purification and analysis using established SOPs.
4. Optimizes processes to improve yields and scalability of formulations.
5. Troubleshoots low-yield processes and compositions to achieve formulation targets (i.e., composition design to enable specific delivery outcomes).
6. Produces formulations in support of the RNA, chemistry, and preclinical groups.
7. Follows SOPs; generates and maintains thorough and accurate documentation.
8. Generates, analyzes, and tabulates data and results; writes/reviews reports and makes recommendations.
9. Meets established deadlines.
10. Openly communicates challenges and proposes solutions.
11. Assists with ordering, inventory tracking, and logistics.
12. Additional responsibilities, as required.

Project Teamwork

1. Supports and troubleshoots project teamwork.
2. Provides technical support to other project teams.
3. Supports the planning and execution of internal project plans.
4. Prepares and reviews study reports and technical presentations for internal use and for clients.
5. Collaborates and interacts with other groups/departments in the organization on related projects to develop, characterize and test formulations, as requested.

Innovation

1. Assists in conducting relevant scientific literature searches for designing new experiments.
2. Supports the establishment of new capabilities based on literature review and supervisor input.
3. Identifies novel research opportunities.
4. Assists in patent idea generation and writing.

Education & Experience Required

1. MSc in synthetic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry or Life Sciences discipline, and 3+ years of industry experience or the equivalent education and experience.
2. Knowledge and experience of formulation technologies with particular emphasis on nano-and microparticle-based drug delivery approaches applied to all classes of therapeutics (small molecule APIs, peptides, proteins and nucleic-acid based).
3. Knowledge and experience of preclinical drug development with a focus on drug delivery-based development approaches including (a) Lipid- and non-lipid-based drug delivery and conventional formulation approaches, (b) Physicochemical characterization of drugs and formulations, (c) Analytical techniques such as HPLC, (d) Formulation scale-up and (e) Preclinical testing of drug formulations.

What We Offer
