Aplin has partnered with one of the largest Defense Contractors to find a Requirements Engineer to join their team in Dartmouth, NS. In this role you will provide engineering expertise to the management of project requirements. This will include verification and validation details associated with the requirements, as well as providing engineering leadership and expertise to the process of customer acceptance.

Responsibilities:

• Support management and maintenance of requirements using requirements development practices, including compliance details, traceability, acceptance characteristics, acceptance evidence and customer approvals.
• Act as a point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters to resolve complex problems and maintain awareness of priorities and objectives.
• Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support their effective working and development.
• Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
• Maintain a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development.

Qualifications/Functional Knowledge:

• Demonstrably working towards an appropriate level of professional certification with a relevant professional body.
• A degree in a relevant subject e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Maths or other equivalent qualification or equivalent experience.
• A good understanding of the engineering lifecycle.
• A good understanding of configuration management principles and software tools.
• Competence and capability with requirements capture and management software tools e.g. the Rationale software tools such as DOORS.
