Senior Project Manager - Transportation Engineering

Arcadis is seeking a talented Project Manager, Transportation Engineering for our dynamic Ottawa office. We are looking for a project manager with a background in road and transit projects in Ontario. Experience in some or all of Environmental Assessments, preliminary design, detailed design, transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.

This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, business development and client interaction. As a Project Manager, you will be asked to assist in growing and maintaining the business. Role Accountabilities:

1. Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation-infrastructure projects such as Class Environmental Assessments, TPAP, preliminary designs, detailed designs, intersection, or corridor improvement studies.
2. Transportation Engineering task lead for large-scale projects.
3. Review of preliminary and detailed design drawings, supporting report-writing (e.g. Environmental Study Report, traffic studies, technical reports), proposal writing.
4. Manage staff productivity and utilization.
5. Mentor staff and project teams.
6. Supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects.
7. Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus.
8. Lead and direct business development activities in Ottawa and GTHA.
9. Project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget.
10. Client liaison.
11. Participation in the management of the Transportation Group in the Ottawa Office.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
2. 5+ years of Project Management experience as well as 8+ years of Transportation Engineering.
3. Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience.
4. P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred.
5. Experience with City of Ottawa, MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, Durham Region and Halton Region are an asset.
6. Experience with preliminary and detailed design of intersections, arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety).
7. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, and Civil3D an asset.
8. Understanding of traffic engineering principles.
9. Familiarity with Ottawa and/or GTHA market conditions, public and private sector client base in and around Ottawa/GTHA.
10. Familiar with contract administration, construction inspection and preparation of reports.
11. Ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients.
12. Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills are expected.
13. Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed.
14. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work.
15. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
