Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  1. Manage healthcare or hospital facility construction projects through all phases, from planning and design to construction and closeout.
  2. Oversee individual tasks throughout the design and construction process, including the submittal and RFI processes, while addressing the unique needs of healthcare facilities.
  3. Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure compliance with healthcare-specific building codes, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
  4. Facilitate project meetings, document minutes and action items, and ensure timely resolution of key issues.
  5. Administer project closeout specifications, ensuring all healthcare-specific commissioning and turnover documentation is completed and delivered.
  6. Manage submittal approvals, RFI processing, change orders, and punch-list closeout tasks specific to healthcare projects.
  7. Collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, and healthcare stakeholders, including administrators, facility managers, and clinical staff.
  8. Participate in commissioning activities to ensure the operational readiness of healthcare facilities.
  9. Build and maintain strong client relationships within the healthcare sector.

Client Relationship Management

  1. Foster strong partnerships with healthcare clients, understanding their specific goals and operational challenges.
  2. Balance the needs of diverse stakeholders, including hospital administrators, contractors, and facility operators.
  3. Contribute to securing new healthcare-related business opportunities.

Teamwork

  1. Lead project teams, ensuring effective collaboration across multidisciplinary groups.
  2. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members, leveraging your expertise in healthcare facility construction.
  3. Motivate and inspire the team with a clear project vision and goals tailored to the healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  1. PMP certification and P.Eng designation (or equivalent).
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, including substantial experience in healthcare or hospital facility projects.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  4. Strong knowledge of healthcare facility construction standards, including infection control protocols, patient safety requirements, and operational readiness practices.
  5. Proven experience managing real property construction projects, ideally within the Ottawa market.
  6. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project or P6.
  7. Strong analytical and technological skills, with familiarity with web-based data platforms.
  8. Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
  9. The ability to quickly obtain security clearance.
