Mid-sized infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator / Asst Project Manager providing coordination and management duties on a given project often involving both heavy civil and mechanical aspects. The Senior Project Coordinator / Asst Project Manager will assist in the scheduling of construction works (material & equipment acquisition, subtrades), archiving of all project documentation effectively and tracking job costs and progress. Above all, as aide to the Project Manager, the responsibility of the Senior Project Coordinator / Asst Project Manager is to concisely provide the Project Manager and Superintendent with accurate and current information pertaining to all aspects of the project upon request. The successful candidate will assist the Commissioning Manager, Superintendent & Project Manager with project performance, primarily scheduling, time and material coordination, cost tracking and documentation
Capable of creating and maintaining steadfast relationships with project owners, consultants, suppliers and subtrades
Coordinating construction tasks, equipment and system commissioning activities and archiving all documentation (i.e. Operation and Maintenance manual assembly, hand-over item summaries, deficiency summaries etc.)
Maintaining accurate and up to date RFI and RFQ logs as well as the administering of both
Log and continuously maintain in an impeccable fashion, contemporaneous records and daily photographs
Maintaining accurate and up to date files for shop drawings, change orders & submittals
Creating drawings and mockups as the arise
Assisting Project Manager in reporting job performance status reports as required including costs, forecasts and safety
Develop and continually maintain a working knowledge of the project’s specifications and drawings
Manage and supervise all site documentation, preventative maintenance and inspections associated with Occupational Health and Safety Program
Primary responsibility in all facets of project close-out, including archiving of documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiency management and tagging requirements
Participate in basic layout and field engineering activities
Post-secondary degree or diploma in related science, engineering or construction management discipline
A willingness and desire to learn, an unbending work ethic and flexible to a range of working environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word – preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in CAD, Microsoft Project& Bluebeam REVU
Effective communicator, both verbally and written
A valid driver’s license
A veracious character focused on building healthy relationships with owners, consultants, coworkers and suppliers
Impeccable organizational skills, fervent attention to detail and proven performance under pressure
Preference will be given to candidates who have previous coordination experience with a large general contractor and those candidates with existing knowledge of water/wastewater construction techniques, drawings and materials.
