Job Description

Ivans, a division of Applied Systems, is currently seeking a Senior Product Manager (data-driven). The Senior Product Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our new carrier-facing software offering, with a focus on Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). This position is an excellent opportunity to build new & innovative solutions leveraging AI-powered automation to transform customer workflows.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for articulating the root cause of problems, addressing trade-offs, translating insights into solutions, and providing feature specifications to the tech teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities and the capacity to translate data into actionable product strategy and feature roadmap. You’ll also act as a cross-functional leader between engineering, data science, design, research, and marketing teams to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.

What You’ll Do

  1. Defines the vision and roadmap for a feature area or a product.
  2. Provides data-driven insights on product performance and identifies areas for improvement, demonstrating a higher level of analytical skills and strategic thinking.
  3. Continuously expands knowledge of data products, the insurance industry, and data regulations.
  4. Conducts comprehensive market research and competitive benchmarking to identify customer needs or product gaps, showing a higher level of strategic thinking.
  5. Performs user research and testing to understand needs and pain points, demonstrating an advanced understanding of user-centric design.
  6. Employs advanced techniques to explore user needs and gain a deeper understanding of the customer.
  7. Defines product requirements and specifications for one or more features or a feature area, demonstrating attention to detail and strategic thinking.
  8. Leads the development and execution of product strategies for one or more features or a feature area, demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking.
  9. Translates insights into recommendations for feature enhancements, showing strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  10. Ensures feature delivery creates a connected customer journey, demonstrating a customer-centric approach.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned related to product innovation.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

  1. Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  1. 5 – 7 years of experience in Product Management, Product, Data Analytics, or Engineering with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  2. Understanding of product management principles, with a focus on data and analytics.
  3. Ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights and product enhancements.
  4. Experience with writing user stories and defining requirements for data and APIs.
  5. Familiarity with SQL, data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker), and data pipeline concepts (preferred).
  6. Experience working with OCR, NLP, and machine learning models for document extraction and classification (preferred).
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in storytelling and articulating data value.
  8. Ability to work with minimal supervision, effectively managing priorities and dependencies across teams.
  9. Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Data Analytics, Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
